READ, READ, READ: We encourage those students not participating in summer educational programs to create your own summer school experience through reading.

University Visitor's Network: University Visitor's Network is a new information portal for college-bound students, enrolled students, parents and school counselors that not only provides the necessary information regarding academics and cost for each school, it also includes a broad palette of photos, videos, and links that paint an informative picture of the lifestyle on campus and the local community, giving students the ability to make informed choices about their future in college.
Pages such as Prepare Me for College, For Parents, Financial Services/Scholarships, Study Abroad & Gap Year, and Green Scene/Get Involved, are abundantly populated with useful information in the form of videos, articles, blogs, live-news feeds, book recommendations, and resource links to the best website information available. UVN also includes 27 interactive micro-websites of Online University Visitors Guides, allowing students and parents to visit colleges without leaving the house. UVN is the most comprehensive college search profile available; the go-to web destination when it comes to preparing for and selecting a college.
Our mission at UVN is to provide quality information to college-bound students. Click here to go to this valuable resource.

Attention Juniors!:We strongly encourage you to take the SAT and/or the ACT near the end of your junior year. There are still a couple of opportunities available. Recently, two local college representatives came to SCHS to speak to our juniors. Angela Napier, who works in admissions at IU East, gave a presentation which highlighted the great things that are happening at the Richmond location. Stephanie Hill Alexander, who works in admissions at Ivy Tech, gave a presentation on Ivy Tech’s academic programs, and highlighted their Take A Course On Us (TACOU) program. TACOU is an amazing opportunity for your student to take up to two college level classes for FREE at the Ivy Tech campus here in Richmond.
